A “Spring Classic” for those of you who don’t particularly like riding on dirt roads. The Fleche Buffoon is our tribute to the Ardennes Classics (Fleche Wallonne, Amstel Gold Race & the oldest of the classics, Liege-Bastogne-Liege).
We now offer 2 hilly courses (ca 62 and 76 miles) through the Bucks County, PA & Hunterdon County, NJ countryside. The challenging courses feature up to 14 steep climbs over its route. Along the way there will be miles of country roads, scenic farmland and quaint river towns. In true Amstel fashion, on the long course, there will even be an authentic Dutch windmill along the course (in Holland Township no less). Both courses share a single aid station, just prior to where the courses split.
Well, the marquee climb, Uhlerstown Rd, with lots of debris and loose gravel - technically it is paved, but unusually steep with a sharp drop off on the side into the woods, for those who cannot maintain their balance on the 22% incline.
