C28 T3 Milford-Alpha 28.5 Picnic on the Delaware

C28 T3 Milford-Alpha #1 28.4 miles & Milford-Alpha #2 28.7 miles (with extra hill) 

DRIVING TO THE START:  The road from Frenchtown to Milford is closed because a bridge is out. The simplest detour might be to cross into PA and go north on Route 32 and cross back over into Milford.

We roll at 10 AM from the parking lot on Church St. in Milford. The route takes along the Delaware River on rural roads through several river hamlets and farms. We will see beautiful old houses and pass several old stone barns. About mile 22 we will stop on the banks of the Delaware to enjoy our picnic lunch.  Bring your own sandwich and lunch fixings.

Route #2 separates from route #1 at mile 17 and adds an extra hill.  Both routes come back together at mile 22 for lunch and continue together, along the river, back to the start.

Arrive early enough so you are ready to roll at 10 o'clock.

Helmets are mandatory.  Mirrors, front/rear flashers and high viz clothing are highly recommended.
