Canal NJ/PA Triumph Brewery
The ride starts at 201 S. Main Street in Lambertville. This is the River Walk office complex and coincidentally where Pure Energy Bicycle Shop is now located.
The route takes us north along the rail bed to Bulls Island where we cross the Delaware River. We ride to Carversville, PA on Fleecy Dale Road which is pretty much closed to car traffic. The return to the river is on Old Carversville Road which is unpaved for a bit. In Lumberville we will have a chance to buy a drink and a pastry (NOT a full breakfast) before going south on the towpath on the Pennsylvania side. The final stop is the Triumph Brewery in New Hope for lunch and a brew.
I rode this route on a hybrid bike with 38c tires which were fine. Most of the route’s surface was hard packed and there were some washboard sections. I would recommend a hybrid/gravel or mountain bike.
This is a very scenic and historic route.
Arrive early enough so you are ready to roll at 9 o'clock.
Helmets are mandatory. Front and rear flashers as well as mirrors are highly recommended.
