Ride description:
Note the 6:00 PM start time, this hopefully will beat the worst of the heat. Be sure to bring plenty of fluid. The ride is a T4 because of the climb.
1. No stops on this route
2. This has what one will call a stinker of a climb but the payback is one of the best downhill runs that can be found.
3. Ride with GPS does not appear to all allow Crossing 22 on Blossom Hill Rd so disregard Ride with GPS and just turn left on Blossom Hill Rd - not ride down 22. This will require the rider to dismount to get a cross the curb put in that was put in that screwed up the crossing the road. Not sure why NJ is oblivious to cycling but I suppose we are supposed to drive to anywhere we need to be.
4. A good source has told me that we can still get across Welsh Rd and bridge construction. If not we will still be able to climb our way out.
The ride will be cancelled if there is a likelihood of rain. (I have been caught in really bad storms and have no desire for anyone to experience that)
No drops.
Helmets mandatory. Front/rear flashers HIGHLY recommended and for any evening ride a viable headlight is always a good idea. No one wants to get caught in the blackness of night when it sets in and with modern LED lights we have no excuse.
