Registration is closed

NOTE:  This is a re-posting of a ride originally led by our late friend, Dan Brown from last year. Because of Covid, many of us weren't riding with the club last year and weren't able to do the ride, so we thought we should re-post it.

Note the 9:30 start time. As info, Google Maps says that the start point at the Haycock Boat Launch is 39 minutes from Flemington.

If rain is forecasted for the day of the ride, it will be rescheduled.

We will assemble at the Haycock boat launch on the NE end of Lake Nockamixon, Bucks County, PA (see easy directions below).  The first leg of the ride will take us through dense woods along Haycock Creek which borders State Game Land #157.  We then turn west and head through Pullen and Gruversville on the way to Rock Valley near the western border of Bucks County.  The return leg will take us through California, Richlandtown, Louxs Corner, and Strawntown. In addition to Haycock, we'll cross the Kimples, Dry Branch, Cooks, and Tohickon Creeks along the way.  The ride finale will take us back into Lake Nockamixon State Park where we will ride the paved bike path bordering the lake shoreline.  Attractions will include the site of Stovers Mill, the dam, the waterfall, Fisherman's Pier, and the marina.

Riders can expect quiet, paved, and low traffic country roads most of the day over rolling terrain.  One commercial water stop is planned.  Bring your helmet (required), filled water bottles, accessories to change a flat, and a sense of adventure, and a snack.

Directions to the Haycock Boat Launch:  Take whatever route you wish to Milford, NJ.  Head west across the bridge over the Delaware River.  Upon reaching the PA side of the bridge, reset your car odometer to zero.  Turn Right (north) on to SR 32 River Road.  At trip mile 4.5 turn Left (south) at the STOP sign on to SR 611 Easton Road.  At trip mile 6.4 turn Right (west) at the stop light on to Church Hill Road.  (Note: the light appears suddenly on SR 611 on the far, descending side of a short rise in the road.  You won't be able to see it coming as you ascend the near side of the rise,  and you have a short distance to stop after you go over the top and begin your descent to the light.  Look for a yellow, blinking warning light on the right side of the road approaching the ascent).  At trip mile 7.9 turn Left (south) at the STOP sign on to SR 412 Durham Road.  At trip mile 9.5 turn Right at the stop light on to SR 563 Mountain View Drive.  At trip mile 10.3 you will cross a light colored concrete bridge over a narrow portion of Lake Nockamixon.  Just as you reach the far side of the bridge, look for a brown road sign with white letters on the right indicating "Haycock Boat Launch", Left turn ahead.  At trip mile 10.4 turn Left across SR 563 Mountain View Drive into the paved entrance of Haycock Boat Launch (there is no street sign identifying this road at the entrance).  Bear right at the fork and follow one-way signs to the parking area.
