The Longest Day (or Shortest Night) Ride
Bring your Mandatory helmets and your strongly recommended head and tail lights and appetite as we leave the High Bridge Trail Head parking lot to head 10 miles to the Northeast towards Long Valley. We'll then take a small snack break in Long Valley allowing all to reassemble before doing an about face to return during early dusk underneath the full canopy of trees shading the trail. Tire width recommendations of 28mm or wider are recommended for this hard-packed limestone trail, although 23-25mm tires have been known to survive this ride. but it's just not as comfortable for the rider. No drops.
Upon return at ~ 7:15 pm, we'll load our bikes back onto/into our cars and drive 1/2 mile back into town for a splendiferous Mexican-style dinner at Casa Maya located at 1 Main St. in High Bridge. The WJW club supplies the (cerveza) beer. You supply the dinero ($$) for your own meal as we toast to the joy of riding after work or early am (or anytime if you're lucky enough to be retired) due to the longest amount of daylight we'll see this year! Join us even if you're not riding if you'd like!
